How Selling Surplus Wire Works
Submit the inventory details and photos, we review the material, you discuss pricing and logistics, and pickup or shipping is arranged when you agree.
The four steps
Each step is the same whether the lot is three reels or a full storeroom.
Send the inventory details and photos
Use the quote form or email. Tell us the wire type, gauge, voltage, footage or reel count, condition and where it is located. Attach photos of the reels, tags, jacket legends and the overall stack.
We review the material
A buyer reads the tags and photos, identifies anything unclear from the jacket print, and comes back with questions if a reel cannot be identified. Mixed lots are reviewed item by item.
We discuss pricing and logistics
You get a number based on the material, the condition and the footage, plus how pickup or shipping would work. Nothing is agreed until you accept it.
Arrange pickup or shipping
Once pricing is agreed, we schedule a pickup at your dock or arrange freight if you would rather ship. Material leaves on the agreed date and the space is yours again.
What a good submission looks like
The fastest quotes come from submissions that answer four questions without a follow-up: what the wire is, how much of it there is, what condition it is in, and where it sits. A reel tag photo answers the first question. The tag also carries the footage, which answers the second.
Condition is the one thing photos cannot always show. If a reel sat outside for two summers, or a partial was dragged across a floor, say so. Material described accurately gets priced accurately, and nobody is surprised at pickup.
How we handle mixed and unidentified lots
Plant shutdowns rarely produce a tidy inventory. Reels lose their tags, sizes get mixed on a rack, and half the material is in a container nobody has opened in years. We work through it in two passes: wide photos to establish volume, then close-ups of representative tags.
Anything that cannot be identified from the tag or the jacket print is flagged rather than guessed at. If a reel needs to be unspooled to confirm a size, we will say so before anyone commits to a number.
Pickup, freight and access
Most Ohio pickups are straightforward: a dock, a forklift and a window when a trailer can get in. Sites without a dock can still work if the reels can be moved to ground level and a trailer can reach them. Narrow gates, low clearances and street loading all change the plan, so mention them early.
If shipping is easier, we can arrange freight. Either way, the material leaves on an agreed date and the paperwork your facility needs is prepared before the truck arrives.
Start with the details
Everything in the form is optional except the contact fields, the location and the wire type. Fill in what you know — the photos usually cover the rest.
There is no obligation and no cost to send a lot for review.
