Surplus wire is still wire
A cancelled project, a line change, a plant shutdown, a shelf that has not been touched since the last expansion — the material is usually good cable that nobody has a use for. We buy it as material: copper and aluminum, full reels or partials, tagged or unidentified.
Send the reel tags and a few photos. You will get a straight answer about what it is worth and how it would leave your building.
Types of wire we buy
Five groups cover almost everything that comes out of an Ohio plant, warehouse or contractor shop. Each one has its own page with the constructions, sizes and details a buyer needs.

| Feeder and service | 1/0, 2/0, 3/0, 4/0, 250, 300, 350, 400 |
| Large feeder | 500, 600, 750, 1000 MCM |
| Packaging | Full reels, partial reels, wooden reels, spools, coils, cartons and loose inventory |
| Condition | New surplus, unused, overstock, cancelled-project stock, partial reel, used, damaged |
Acceptance is not guaranteed for every type or condition. Material is reviewed on its details and photos, and pricing is agreed before anything moves.
Every reel has a number on it
The tag tells you the size, the footage and the insulation. The jacket print confirms it. Those two facts are what turn a stack of reels from a disposal problem into a quote.
How selling works
Four steps, no obligation until you accept a number.
Send the inventory details and photos
Use the quote form or email. Tell us the wire type, gauge, voltage, footage or reel count, condition and where it is located. Attach photos of the reels, tags, jacket legends and the overall stack.
We review the material
A buyer reads the tags and photos, identifies anything unclear from the jacket print, and comes back with questions if a reel cannot be identified. Mixed lots are reviewed item by item.
We discuss pricing and logistics
You get a number based on the material, the condition and the footage, plus how pickup or shipping would work. Nothing is agreed until you accept it.
Arrange pickup or shipping
Once pricing is agreed, we schedule a pickup at your dock or arrange freight if you would rather ship. Material leaves on the agreed date and the space is yours again.
Who we buy from in Ohio
Plants, contractors, distributors and institutions all end up holding cable they do not need. These are the audiences we work with most.
Automotive, steel and advanced manufacturing
Assembly plants, stamping and tooling shops, steel mills and fabrication houses buy wire by the reel and finish a project with part of it left over.
Read more →Chemical, plastics, rubber, glass, paper and food manufacturing
Continuous-process plants replace instrumentation and control cable on a schedule, and the removed or superseded reels often stay on site.
Read more →Electric utilities, generation and line contractors
Utility and generation work generates distribution-class cable, grounding conductors and substation control cable that outlives the project that ordered it.
Read more →Data centers, technology campuses and telecommunications
Fit-out and expansion work leaves structured cabling, feeder cable and fire-alarm wire behind when a hall is reconfigured.
Read more →Hospitals, laboratories, universities and research facilities
Institutional renovation and lab build-outs create small, high-value lots of specialty cable that rarely gets returned to a distributor.
Read more →Warehouses, distribution centers and construction contractors
Distribution centers and the contractors who build them hold service-entrance, feeder and branch-circuit cable between projects.
Read more →Maintenance, shutdown, demolition and decommissioning contractors
Shutdowns and decommissioning produce the largest single-event volumes: whole warehouses of reels when a plant or line closes.

We work statewide, region by region. Pick the region closest to the material for local detail on access, industries and the cable that turns up there.
Central Ohio
Central Ohio is the state's fastest-moving construction market, and that pace leaves reels behind. We buy surplus building wire, feeder, control and low-voltage cable from Columbus, its suburbs and the surrounding counties.
Cities and coverage →Northeast Ohio
Northeast Ohio carries the state's heaviest concentration of older industrial plants, and older plants hold the deepest maintenance cribs. We buy the wire and cable that accumulates in them.
Cities and coverage →Northwest Ohio
Northwest Ohio is glass, stamping, refining, die casting and food processing — industries that order cable by the reel and rarely use the last few hundred feet.
Cities and coverage →Southwest Ohio
Southwest Ohio combines river industry, machine-tool and aerospace manufacturing, and one of the Midwest's largest food and consumer-goods supplier bases. All three produce surplus cable.
Cities and coverage →Southeast Ohio
Southeast Ohio's industrial base runs along the Ohio River and the I-70 and I-77 corridors — metals, chemicals, paper, plastics and the service companies that support them.

Tell us what you have
The form goes straight to a buyer. Attach photos of the reels, tags and jacket legends — that is the difference between a quote and a question.
- Location: city and ZIP where the wire physically sits.
- Material: type, metal, gauge, voltage and conductor count.
- Quantity: footage, reel count, coil count or weight if known.
- Condition and packaging: new surplus through damaged, reels through loose.
- Access: dock, forklift, trailer size, gate hours, appointments.

Surplus wire questions
The questions sellers ask most often before sending a lot.
What kinds of wire do you buy in Ohio?
Copper and aluminum building wire, MC and AC cable, tray and VFD cable, control and instrumentation cable, flexible cord and welding cable, low-voltage and communication cable, and medium-voltage cable from 5kV through 35kV and above. Send the details even if you are not sure what a reel is — the jacket print usually identifies it.
Do you buy partial reels and used wire?
Yes. Full reels are the easiest to price, but partial reels, opened spools and used cable pulled from a project are reviewed too. Condition and remaining footage affect the offer, so send photos of the tag and the reel end.
How do I know what my wire is worth?
The offer depends on conductor metal, gauge, insulation type, voltage class, footage, condition and current demand for that construction. Photos of the reel tags and jacket legends are the fastest way to a real number instead of a range.
Do you pick up, or do I have to ship?
Both work. We schedule pickups across Ohio and can arrange freight if shipping is easier for your site. Tell us about dock access, forklift availability, trailer size and any gate or appointment restrictions when you send the details.
What if I have a mixed lot from a plant shutdown?
Mixed lots are normal for shutdowns and decommissioning. Send wide photos of the storage area plus close-ups of a few representative tags, and an inventory list if one exists. We will price what is identifiable and tell you what needs a closer look.
Is there a minimum quantity?
There is no published minimum, but small single-reel lots are harder to justify moving. If you have one or two reels, send the details anyway — it may still make sense depending on the material and your location.
Do you buy anything other than wire and cable?
No. This business buys surplus electrical and industrial wire and cable only. Equipment, machinery, vehicles and general scrap fall outside what we purchase, so a lot that mixes wire with other material is reviewed for the wire content alone.
How quickly will I hear back?
Quote requests are reviewed in the order they arrive. Requests that include photos of the reel tags, the jacket print and the overall stack are answered fastest because no follow-up questions are needed.
Ready to price your surplus wire?
Send the wire type, footage, condition and photos of the reels and tags. We review it and come back with pricing and pickup logistics.
