Sell Surplus Wire and Cable From Your Akron Plant
Akron's polymer and plastics plants run on portable cord, control cable and drives that get replaced line by line. The leftover reels end up in a crib or a maintenance closet. If you are holding partial spools of SOOW, VFD cable or tray cable, a photo of the tag puts a number on them.
Akron sits in Summit County, in Northeast Ohio. Wire that leaves a plant, warehouse or job site here is handled the same way as anywhere else in the state: send the details and photos, get a number, then arrange pickup or shipping.

Portable Cord and Drive Cable From Summit County Shops
Rubber and plastics work is hard on flexible cable. SOOW portable cord, VFD cable on extruder and mixer drives, and control cable run to temperature controllers all get replaced on a schedule, and the take-off reels stay on the shelf. We buy those partial reels, plus full lengths still in the wrapper.
We also buy the building wire behind it: THHN and THWN in conduit, XHHW feeders, MC and AC cable from office and lab fit-outs, and instrumentation pairs in shielded and unshielded constructions. A plant that reworks its own rubber compound still buys new cable for every line it rebuilds.
Where Akron Freight Moves
Akron sits where I-76, I-77 and the Ohio Turnpike meet, with SR-8 and SR-18 feeding the older industrial streets. Most pickups are a straight dock-to-dock run, but plenty of Summit County shops load from a ground-level door with no forklift. Say so up front and we bring a lift gate and two people.
How Partial Reels Get Priced
Length matters more than age. A 300 ft partial of 2 AWG SOOW is worth pricing; so is a sealed 500 ft reel of 12 AWG THHN. Photograph the tag, the jacket print and the end of the cable so we can read the AWG and voltage, and note whether the cable is on a wood reel, a plastic reel or a coil.
